Applications of the Offshore Winds:
There are many applications of the offshore winds because they are the powerful and the reliable source of the production of the different forms of energies with the help of machines that are known as turbines or the wind generators. Some important applications of the offshore winds that are required to produce energy are as follows
Offshore Wind Turbines:
The wind turbines are the main source or the main component for generating the forms of energies from the wind. Offshore wind turbines are those turbines that are installed in the offshore areas and can produce energy from the offshore wind. These turbines are placed in the location that is 30 m far away for the sea shore and generally in the shallow water areas. Offshore wind turbines are able to produce energies more efficiently because they are bigger in size as compared to the onshore or the near shore wind turbines. Basically the main duty of the offshore wind turbines is to convert the offshore wind energy into the electrical energy.
Offshore Wind Energy:
The energy that is generated by the activity of the offshore winds is called as offshore wind energy. This energy is generated with the help of offshore wind turbines. The kinetics of the wind when strikes with the offshore wind turbines they generate a type of mechanical energy and when electrical generator is coupled with it, this turbine can change the offshore wind into the electricity. Basically the offshore wind energy is belonged from the solar energy, its mean that it is also able to do the jobs in the solar panels. Offshore wind energy is said to be one of the greatest resource to generate the high or the efficient amount of the electricity. On the whole it is the major application of the offshore winds.
Offshore Wind Farms:
By combining the number of the offshore wind turbines, we can also generate the offshore wind farms. Offshore wind farm is the important component or technology for the generation of the high amount of electrical energy because they are attached with the grid stations that supply the generated electricity to the country or the particular area. Offshore wind farms are usually built out of the range of the 10 km from the land because in those areas the pressure of the wind is quite high as compared to onshore areas. That is why offshore areas are good for the production of the electricity.
Advantages of Offshore Winds:
As offshore winds are more beneficial for the production of the electricity that is why it has lots of advantages, some of them are as follows
- The velocity of the wind is quite higher as compared to the onshore areas.
- The turbines that are used for the production of energy from the offshore winds are comparatively huge and can produce more electricity from the onshore wind turbines e.g. 4 MW
- The technology used in the offshore wind is quite harmless for the environment as well as for the marine water creatures
- Energy generation with the help of offshore wind is up to 600 MW and would be increase in the future up to 1100 MW
